Wild Dog Art & Media is pleased to announce that our feature film A Wake, is an official selection for the Big Apple Film Festival Summer 2019, and screens in NYC on Aug 27th. Produced in partnership with Paperback Films, A Wake stars actor and singer Noah Urrea in the lead roles of Mason/Mitchel. Noah is currently touring with the music group Now United. The film also stars Canadian actor Kolton Stewart, best known for Some Assembly Required, and Sofia Rosinsky, of the Disney series, Fast Layne.
Directed by Scott Boswell, A Wake follows the family of teenager Mitchel, as they plan his memorial, led by little sister Molly (Sofia Rosinsky). Children, elders and friends clash as they struggle to understand the realities of Mitchel’s life and face lingering questions about his death. This is Boswell’s second feature. Boswell’s earlier works have garnered international distribution and streamed on Netflix.
Big Apple Film Festival has been recognized by MovieMaker as a Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals, by local media as one of the “5 Best Events in New York”, and currently has top-tier GOLD status on FilmFreeway.
